This year, I am studying in Brussels at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and then I am going to Vienna to be an English Language Assistant in two secondary schools there.

During my first semester in France, I will be studying French law in the Capitole 1 university in Toulouse, I’m taking 8 classes that are all in French. I’m here with some friends of mine that are doing the same thing so I never feel too lost or overwhelmed. In the second semester I’ll be doing more or less the same thing as my first semester, just with different classes.

During my first semester abroad, I will be studying at Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, in the Rhône-Alpes region of France, where I will study French and German language, and other subjects such as French culture, Korean language and translation modules. In semester two, I will start a study placement at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, in Southwestern Germany, where again I will study German and French modules, German history and culture modules, translation modules and Korean language.

For the first semester (5 months) of my third year, I am studying at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain. As a student here, I am studying modules in German, Spanish as a foreign language, Spanish grammar and lexicology and beginner's Italian. After I finish at USC, I will move on to study my second semester (roughly 6 months) at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany.

On my year abroad I am studying in both Spain and Germany (Spain in Semester 1 and Germany in Semester 2) and alongside my study I am discovering local history, culture and of course, learning the language. I have been discovering traditions that are very different from my own and learning a whole new way of life! I have made friends from all over the world; in particular, I have friends in different Spanish speaking countries (such as Chile and Tenerife) and it is fascinating to hear the similarities and differences between the cultures, traditions and even variations of the same language! I have been talking to local people and sampling the local food to really immerse myself in the Spanish way of life and look forward to doing so next semester in Germany!
